youth participation 101 workshop banner

Youth participation acknowledges that young people are the experts in their own lives.

Do you need guidance to boost your youth groups, programs and advocacy? Does your team need to re-engage their passion and/or fill up their toolbox for effective youth participation?

At our Youth Participation workshop, we’ll talk about the successes you’re having and unpick the barriers you may be encountering to increase your confidence in working alongside young people.

Tickets can be purchased through the link below:

What to expect

This interactive session will engage your passion and fill up your toolbox for effective youth participation.

You’ll walk away feeling motivated by strategies and tips for engaging young people in the work that you do, strengthen their voices in the work of your organisation, and ultimately in the communities in which they live.

We’ll talk about the successes you’re having and unpick the barriers you may be encountering to increase your confidence in working alongside young people in your role.

We are running the sessions across 2 days: Thursday 4 April and Thursday 11 April, 1pm - 3pm. Both will be held online.

Topics we cover

  • Discuss the fundamentals of youth engagement
  • Embed the voices of young people within your work
  • Share stories and workshop any challenges you are facing
  • Learn about YACVic’s model of youth participation (both successes and learnings)
  • Graduates are invited to join the Youth Participation Practice Network (YPPN)

If you can’t make this session and would like to speak with Finnley about the possibility of training for you and your team please complete our online enquiry form.

I enjoyed the broader scope of understanding around youth participation and what this 'looks like' and how this can be further supported and embedded in my practice

Our work takes place through the lands of the Aboriginal nations within Victoria and we pay our respects to their Elders past and present. Bunjil’s lore states that those who walk on this land must care for the Country and waterways as well as care for the children and young people. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
