The Victorian Parliament’s Law Reform, Road and Community Safety Committee has released the report of their inquiry into drug law reform. This extensive report has many points of interest to young people and youth services.
We welcome the report, which calls for drug use to be treated as a health issue rather than a criminal justice issue, and dealt with through treatment, prevention and education.
We've provided a summary here – the youth sector will be especially interested in the report’s calls for improved drug education in schools, stronger community connections for young people, and the possibility of drug-checking trials at music venues.
