There are 3 types of NDIS funding. They are called:
- Core
- Capacity building
- Capital
Each type of funding can be used for different supports and services.
Here are some examples of what you may be able to use the different types of NDIS funding for:
Funding |
Supports |
Example |
Core |
Things you need every day |
Hiring a support worker to help you get ready in the morning or go to a concert with you. |
Capacity Building |
Learning new skills |
Sessions with a physiotherapist, or cooking classes. |
Capital |
Equipment |
A wheelchair or other mobility aid. |
Remember, you can only use your NDIS funding to buy things that you need because of your disability.
Your NDIS plan will list the funding you get through the NDIS and what you can spend it on. If you are unsure if you can use your NDIS for something, ask your NDIS planner or LAC.
